The great Sistla Janaki is an indian playback singer and occasional music-composer, popularly known as the Melody Queen of south india. Everyone refer to call respectfully as 'Janaki Amma' and one of the greatest and famous female Indian singer. She born on April 23rd 1938 in Pallapatla, Repalle village, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. S. Janaki had a huge fan following during her reigning days. With a magnificent voice that stirs her listeners, she has a unique capability to sing in a range of stunning pitch and tones, along with swift changes to match emotions that stimulates the dormat mind to witness reality. Singing a variety of songs incorporating different moods, some rebellious, off-beat, imitative and worshipful in nature. She has recorded over 17,000 film songs in films, albums, TV and Radio including duets, solos and chorus songs in 20+ languages including Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Odia, Bengali, Marathi, Tulu, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Konkani, Assamese, Sindhi and also in languages such as English, Japanese, Arabic, German and Sinhala, however the highest number of songs in her career were in Kannada followed by Malayalam. Janaki got 11 Kerala State Film Awards, 10 Andhra Pradesh State Film Awards, 6 Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, 4 National Film Awards, 1 Karnataka Rajyotsava Award and one Orissa State Film Award.
